Project insights
Lanseria International Airport (LIA) has appointed Delta Built Environment Consultants (Delta BEC) to lead the design and project management of a new multistorey parking facility, aimed at expanding parking capacity in response to increasing traveller volumes. Strategically located near the terminal, the new structure will feature:
- Phase-by-Phase Growth: From an initial 927 parking bays to 3 221 parking bays upon final expansion.
- Pedestrian Arcade & Retail: A central arcade offering retail space, restaurants, and car rental offices at ground level, plus first-floor offices.
- Enhanced Connectivity: Direct, streamlined foot traffic to the terminal building.
LIA appointed Delta BEC to provide full design and project management services, supported by TMS Quantity Surveyors, including approvals from the City of Johannesburg. The project will also incorporate:
- External Works: Landscaping, pedestrian walkways, and relocation of existing vegetation.
- Bulk Services & Demolition: Designing and relocating electrical, water, and sewage infrastructure, plus earthworks and demolition of current parking surfaces.
By integrating advanced planning, phased delivery, and efficient construction oversight, Delta BEC ensures a seamless, future-ready parking solution that elevates traveller convenience and underpins LIA’s ongoing growth.
