Delta Built Environment Consultants (Delta BEC) was appointed by WSP on behalf of Glencore Operations South Africa (GOSA) to provide essential civil engineering services for the Water Use License Application (WULA) at the Goedgevonden Coal Mine in Ogies, Mpumalanga. As part of this project, our municipal infrastructure department delivered detailed stormwater management designs for a coal discard transfer point.

Delta BEC ensured compliance with the Department of Water and Sanitation’s stringent regulations regarding the separation of clean and contaminated run-off water. Our designs focused on effectively managing various water sources and classifications while minimising mechanical intervention. This approach not only adhered to regulatory requirements but also aimed to reduce the need for regular, costly maintenance. Our expertise and commitment to sustainable practices ensured that the project met environmental standards while providing practical solutions for the management of water resources at the coal mine.
