The City of Cape Town appointed Delta Built Environment Consultants for a three-year contract for the rehabilitation and resurfacing of roads in the Blaauwberg area. The project forms a part of the City of Cape Town’s Road maintenance plan, aimed at improving the quality and safety of its road infrastructure. The scope of works includes visual assessments of existing pavement conditions, resurfacing, base and subbase rehabilitation, kerb, channel, and sidewalk repairs, as well as geometric and stormwater improvements.

Delta BEC’s responsibilities encompass the full suite of design and documentation services, including planning, technical studies, investigations, and condition assessments carried out in accordance with industry standards such as TRH12 and TMH9. The team will also manage Wayleave and Permit Applications from relevant service authorities where destructive testing is required.

Under the Rehabilitation and Resurfacing services, Delta BEC will perform critical services, including base and subbase rehabilitation, stormwater repairs, minor geometric improvements, and resurfacing and surfacing repairs to ensure the long-term durability of the road network.
