Delta Built Environment Consultants (Delta BEC) has been appointed by Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) to provide engineering services for two emergency access roads and simulator control upgrades at George Airport. This project involves designing and constructing two roads to improve emergency access and response times and upgrading outdated simulator controls to meet South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) standards.

The design includes stormwater management, pavement details, a concrete hardstand facility, and a secure facility for the simulator controls with enhanced protection. Oil and fuel separators will be installed to prevent hazardous run-off. The stormwater system is designed to handle increased run-off from the new roads, with a key modification near Gate 6. This project addresses critical infrastructure needs to improve safety and efficiency at George Airport.
