Delta Built Environment Consultants (Delta BEC) was appointed by Exxaro to implement their Social Labour Plan, aimed at uplifting the Marapong community in Lephalale through the upgrade of sports, arts, and culture facilities. The project required extensive renovations and new construction to enhance community engagement and recreational opportunities.

Our team at Delta BEC comprised architects, quantity surveyors, and civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers who were responsible for the design and construction supervision. We oversaw the complete renovation of the sports field and athletics track, including new irrigation, drainage systems, high mast lights, and roofed grandstand seating. Additionally, we designed modern ablution facilities, locker rooms for sports teams, a guardhouse, a ticket office, and upgraded fencing. To meet the community’s cultural needs, we upgraded an existing hall and designed a multi-purpose surfaced court with ablution facilities for sports such as netball, basketball, and volleyball, significantly enhancing recreational options for residents.
